Five things to know about me:

  1. I have been into photography for 12 years. It began when I chose Art Photography as my major in college, but switched to Photo Journalism after a semester. I did lots of assignments for the daily newspaper I worked on, the BG News. I took a couple classes and took photos all the time. I love that I have found something that will challenge me to be better every day.
  2. I became a mommy just over two years ago. It’s something I wanted my whole life and I love (just about) every minute of it. It’s a challenge to be a working mom, but I’m grateful to be able to show my little girl what it means to work hard to support your family.
  3. I grew up near Cleveland, Ohio, but met my husband in Springfield, Missouri, where we both working at the time. We met at the pool at our apartment complex. We hung out as friends for the summer, and then started dating.  We are about to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary!
  4. One of the coolest things I’ve ever done was hike part of the Appalachian Trail for  college spring break  of my senior year. I worked as Photo Editor for the BG News and was sent on assignment to hike, journal and photograph the experience. It was incredibly hard, but taught me a lot about myself and it was great getting to know the other students I went with (and still remain friends with!).
  5. I’ve had some awesome pets in my life, including my current ones, Kane, our dog, and Dolly, our cat. I was lucky enough that my parents, were able to raise us around pets. I have a soft spot for all animals. Fun fact: I wanted to be a veterinarian until I found out I would have to euthanize and perform surgery on them.
